Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Summ (the website, Chrome extension, and related services) operated by Black Sheep Meedia. By using Summ, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
Summ lets you save articles (including via a browser extension), stores article text under your account, and turns what you saved into digests — for example a short audio episode and/or email digests. Features may change as we ship updates.
Accounts
You sign in with a magic link emailed to an address you control. Keep that inbox secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share sign-in links.
Subscriptions & payments
Summ offers a Free plan and paid Plus and Pro plans. Current pricing is shown on summ.ink and in the app at /app/. Paid plans are billed through Stripe (including test-mode checkout while we validate payments). Fees are charged according to the plan you choose at checkout. Taxes may apply. You can cancel or manage billing in the app (Manage subscription) or by contacting us; canceling stops future renewals but does not usually refund the current billing period unless required by law or we say otherwise.
Fair use
Summ is for personal, lawful use. Do not:
- Abuse the service (for example automated bulk saving meant to overload systems, scraping others’ accounts, or circumventing limits).
- Use Summ to infringe copyright or other rights — you should only save content you are allowed to process for your own use.
- Reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the product in ways that harm us or other users.
We may set reasonable rate limits or suspend accounts that violate fair use or these terms.
Your content
You retain rights in material you save. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transform that material solely to provide Summ (including digests and email delivery). Digests are generated for you; they are not a guarantee of completeness or accuracy of source articles.
No warranty
Summ is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that digests will perfectly reflect every saved article. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Black Sheep Meedia and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Summ. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Summ in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if you paid nothing).
Termination
You may stop using Summ at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that by nature should survive (including no warranty, liability limits, and ownership) continue after termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Ljubljana, Slovenia have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or your use of Summ, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you a right to bring claims in your place of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
